- Position: Development Manager.

- Reporting to: General Manager.
Directly supervise department staff, cultivate funds and angel investors for new/increased investments and operations, implement the reporting, direct mail program and other fidelity Programs, administer special events, oversee private/corporate/governmental grants and more. The professional would come able to represent the Company in boards and to make effective presentations to high profile scientists and executives.
Will prepare proposals and applications, implement reporting activities, and take initiative at all stages of the identification, cultivation and solicitation or negotiation of prospects.
In addition, create a comprehensive plan for annual goals, conduct research, prepare reports for the Executive Director and serve as primary writer of well-documented proposals.
Customers’ corporate and business development should require outreach and partnering regular activity, this is attendance to meetings, trade-shows, conferences, symposia and the like.
Position involves day-to-day communication with customers executives and managers at both ends – technological and financial: seed capital funds, angel investors, venture-capital funds, IP attornies, researchers, academy and other institutions. It can involve public presentations, board and trustees meetings.
Must be results-focused and strategic with at least 3 years of management (a must) or leadership (an asset) experience in an open innovation and funding development setting.
Background in healthcare/nanotech/biotech/other scientific fields a strong plus. Position also requires a bachelor’s degree, knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and social media, and demonstrated success in investor cultivation, and solicitation/presentation/negotiation activities.
Requires experience in biding/proposals/quoting writing and all aspects of academy/foundation/corporate activities related to an Open Innovation environ and Funds , that included cultivating and managing relationships with funders. Flexibility, excellent communication skills, sound judgment and a Bachelor’s degree are also necessary.
As a matter of course the sought-for candidate is familiar with venture capital funds operations, portfolio management, disinvestments and budgeting/controlling/reporting whole cycle.
English and Spanish languages a must. Other international languages an asset.
